The school has two main buildings known as Tandara and Kanandah.
All classrooms are large, carpeted and well-equipped. Special learning areas include a library, art room, kitchen-classroom, music room, gym, music room and withdrawal rooms.
Tandara (to camp here): The building which houses the office, library, classrooms, art and music rooms and gym.
Kanandah (in the west): The newest building located at the back of the school
Gumbuya (the meeting place): The outside covered area over the stage.
The Cottage: The building with the bull-nose veranda from where our Indonesian program is held. Our Parents’ Club also meet here.
The grounds are large and spacious. Facilities include a covered meeting area (Gumbuya), two large ovals, basketball courts, tennis courts and marked game courts. Attractive grassed areas and gardens are a feature. Shade sails and shade structures have been installed in the play area.
Children of all years have access to our extensive collection of playground equipment, as well as our large oval area and asphalt courts. Altona Green Primary allows interaction between students of all year levels, allowing students to actively engage, support, and care for one another during play. The range of facilities, which has been designed to cater for all children including students with disability, provides many opportunities for climbing and balancing as well as imaginative and passive play. The large playground has restrictions on the year levels that are able to play on it during recesses to support OH&S practices.
Stefanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) program facilities:
Our vegetable gardens offer students the opportunity partake in learning about the cycle of food production and how it plays a vital role in their over-all wellbeing, inspiring them to get outside and be involved. We have a chicken coop in the playground as well as a Kitchen and a wood-fired pizza oven to support our involvement in the SAKG program.
